	<title>Credit</title>
	<description>
It seems like all adults have at least one credit card. It's almost as essential as having a checking account. How else would you rent a car or secure a hotel room or pay for an emergency car repair? Some credit card companies offer free insurance when traveling abroad and will even back you up if you are having trouble with something you purchased using your card. These are all good things, but more often than not, creditcards get people into trouble--the kind of trouble that leads to credit counseling--because they don't use their credit cards wisely. The trouble begins when people buy things with credit card that they normally couldn't afford if they were paying cash. The allure of high limits and low monthly minimums can be too good for a lot of people to pass up. Next thing you know, you are one of the millions living with surmounting credit card debts. There is hope!

The Benefits of Credit Counseling
If you suspect you're getting in over your head with your bills or you've experienced a significant loss in income, you can benefit from credit counseling. They can teach you how to budget and how to deal with setbacks or life's little surprises (like expensive car repairs). Often these things can cause you to start on debt's downward spiral.

If you're past the point where a little credit counseling can help you, a credit counseling service can also offer debt help with one of many debt programs. They offer anything from debt consolidation to debt settlement, and various programs in between. Check with a credit counselor to find one that's right for you.

Credit = Debt

...but it doesn't have to. If you know how to use credit wisely, you don't have to be in debt. You should learn how to budget so that you can pay your credit card off in full each month. This might mean cutting out unnecessary purchases (or at least cutting back quite a bit). That's what credit counseling can teach you.

Credit doesn't have to be your downfall. Give yourself a little credit for being smart enough to get help before it's too late.
